Joseph A. Insana, 71, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on April 10, 2021 at Erie County Medical Center.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Lawrence T. and Bessie J. (LaDuca) Insana.
Joe graduated from Niagara University with a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting. He was employed for 32 years as a Tax Auditor with the New York State Department of Labor. After retiring from the State, he was the manager at the Falls Side Café from 2003 until 2008.
Joe was a man of deep faith. He was a former member of St. Theresa’s Church, where he enjoyed decorating the church and cooking and baking for the St. Joseph’s Table Feasts. He was a current member of Divine Mercy Parish. He was a member of Cursillo, and loved his Saturday morning ‘Permanent Group’ breakfasts that he hosted at his home. Joe loved to bake and make cakes, and made wedding cakes and floral decorations for many family weddings. He was an amazing cook and loved to entertain. His life revolved around family, friends, food and fun.
Joseph is survived by his children, Christopher (Melanie) Insana and Maribeth Insana (Nick Paul); his grandchildren, Brittany (Jousef) Lucca, Aaron Nicpon, Isabelle Insana, and Juliana Insana; his great-grandson, Jousef Lucca; his brother, Thomas A. (Jere) Insana, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins (Including life-long friend and cousin, Marilyn (LaDuca) Wilson and an abundance of close friends. He was predeceased by his daughter, Theresa E. Insana, and his brother, Frank (Jeanie) Insana. He was formerly married to Ann-Marie (Nigro) Insana.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. Joseph’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara St, Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Everyone please assemble at church. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the Theresa E. Insana Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1342 Master Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120.
